Extreme muscle definition can be defined as a high level of muscle mass but a very low (less than 10%) body fat. Many men dream of being lean and bulked up. This type of physique just seems to command more respect and attention when a male walks in a room. Women seem to be more attracted to muscle bound men.
But there are a few important to know before discussing changes in diet. The first thing is not everyone agrees on the best diet to achieve this body physique. The second important thing is that it is always essential that you consult with your physician before beginning any diet aimed at extreme muscle definition.
Foods to carefully consider for extreme muscle definition
Fruit can present a challenge to losing the last few pounds required to achieve less than 10% body fat. If you eat too much fruit, the fructose can be converted directly into fat.
Fructose is a sugar that is present in fruit. The body responds to large and frequent portions of fruit by converting it straight into fat. So, you should limit your fruits to those lowest in fructose such as blueberries, strawberries, or blackberries.
Cow’s milk is considered an insulin-releasing food. So if you are drinking the recommended daily amounts of milk, you may have higher level of insulin in your blood. If so, it could block the fat breakdown that might normally occur. So it may be beneficial to limit the amount of milk you drink when trying to reach the lower percentage of body fat.
Gluten, wheat & grains
If you have a sensitivity to gluten, wheat, or other grains, it may be helpful to limit the amount of these foods that you consume. Also, these foods can raise blood sugar levels which can interfere with weight loss.
It’s especially hard for me to cut grains considering I grew up in an Italian family and was practically raised on bread, pasta and Kraft. Most people report instant drops in bloating, fatigue and fat when they eliminate grains. Give it a shot and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Carb powders / simple sugars
There isn’t disagreement about limiting the amount of simple sugars that you consume for weight loss of any kind. Simple carbohydrates or sugars increase the amount of fat stored in the body. So cutting back on all foods containing simple sugars is useful. These high glycemic foods include fruits like mangos, bananas, and pineapples and yogurt.
Other simple carbohydrates are found in drinks such as Gatorade. This type of drink is often used to replenish the body after an intense workout. Instead of replenishing your body in this way, you can drink plenty of water.
When most people think of bulking up they think of protein powder. Protein powder is great for adding weight but not for losing the last few pounds of fat in order to achieve the desire muscle definition.
All of the foods mentioned have a role in altering the level of insulin available in your blood stream. Too much insulin available in your blood stream will definitely interfere with weight loss, especially the percentage of fat you are able to lose.
So, one other good piece of advice is to eat four to six meals of the recommended foods per day. This may be challenging to do. But remember, you are doing this just so that you can lose the remaining body fat so that you will have the muscle definition that you have been dreaming of.
